While the whole world seems to be going gaga over the Archies Girl Collection from MAC here I am sharing with you a shade from MAC that is subtle and can be worn by any age group, any time of the day and with any outfit.
MAC Fast Play is a lovely rosy pink brown shade that does not wash you out, looks gorgeous and is surely an MLBB shade.
MAC Amplified Creme lipsticks are creamy textured, go on satin smooth and are somewhere between the MAC Matte and MAC Satin lipsticks in terms of texture.
The lipstick stays on for about 4 hours without meals. After a meal there is nothing left on the lips - it fades off without leaving any tint on the lips.
Fast Play covers all lip pigmentation and goes on opaque in a single layer. On well exfoliated lips it feels like a dream.
Now this is my first MAC lipstick and after all the 'I Love MAC' that I had heard I was expecting this to be a super duper WOW lipstick too. Unfortunately as far as texture goes this is just average for me. It is smooth on application but if lips are dry it accentuates the dryness. Once the lipstick wears off, my lips again start feeling dry.
I love the shade Fast Play, I love the packaging of the lipstick but for Rs 990 I am not sure when will I go and pick up more shades from MAC. For similar coverage and staying power but an even smoother texture I would go back to my L'oreal Color Riche lipsticks (reviewed HERE and HERE)
I have heard there are other shades which are apparently more moisturizing but somehow this particular shade from the Amplified Creme collection did not do that for me.
The good thing is that I love the packaging and I simply love the shade of this lipstick. My mom has generally smoother lips as compared to mine and is loving this lipstick. I like using mine over some lip balm but the trouble is that it reduces the staying power of the lipstick.
For any MAC lover this is a must have lipstick. For others there are other brands out there with similar shades.
All in all I am glad to have laid my hands on my first MAC, so yay! I really do want to try out other textures and shades from the brand, I may not be a MAC loyalist but I don't have any grudges against the brand either :D - had these been cheaper I would have surely not been troubled by the slight drying effect it has on my lips.

ReplyDeleteFor a cheaper alternative (with no compromise in quality) I would suggest Oriflame's Nude Suede from their Studio Artist collection!

ReplyDeletewud suggest u to try its STUDIO FIX (FACE POWDER) since i started usin it i use nthg othr thn it need no foundation nthg plus SMOLDER EYE KOHL (Smudge kajal) are two my fav pdt plus i like d make up tools (esp-brushes) of ths brand,thy r loooonnnggg lasting.Now m sure aftr reading ur review my next shoppin list is ready :)
