In our first post on Honeymoon Travel Diaries we introduced you to our pre-honeymoon preparation and told you we decided to stay at the
Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort in Mauritius. This post is going to be heavy on pictures because we were at a place so gorgeous that it had to be captured through our lens - for you to join us as we take you around! You can click on the individual pictures to open them in a larger size.
Mauritius has a huge list of resorts and it can become difficult to narrow down where you want to stay. Apart from budget constraints there are a lot of other factors that can determine your abode during the special days. Our main concerns were
When we started narrowing down on our options the one place which actually exceeded our requirements was the Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort, situated on the Coastal Road at Belle Mare. As I mentioned my sister had already stayed at Ambre, which is a property by the same resort chain of Sun Resorts. So we were confident that we had made a good choice.
I will share a sample itinerary that you can use as a base to plan your own trip at the end of this post (or if this one is too long, I might end up splitting it into two posts!). But before we go there let's go dive into the beauty of Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort.
Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort has an expansive beach line of over 1.3 km on the eastern coast of Mauritius. It offers an array of activities to make your stay exciting yet at the same time relaxing whenever you need the quiet time. The resort offers 255 sea facing rooms each equipped with the modern facilities that you require. The rooms are done up in a soothing white, lime green and light blue colour scheme. Our room was like a little villa on its own with a huge garden up front overlooking the sea.

Each day our bed was done up in a different way but our favourite was the two swans with fresh flowers. Perfect for any honeymoon couple for sure!

When we arrived at the resort we were greeted with a welcome drink and the courteous staff made our check-in very smooth. Once we settled into our room we enjoyed the wine and little delicacies kept for us as a quick snack.
What To Eat In Mauritius - Dining Options At Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort
During our week long stay we tried out all the dining options at the resort. Long Beach offers an array of dining options ranging from Italian to Asian through its 5 restaurants. For International buffets
Le Marché features a live cooking-dining arena. This was our place of choice for scrumptious breakfast. The interiors are done in calming colours and there is a sunny patio where you can relax and soak in the sun. The seating layout is done cleverly to allow you seclusion and privacy as you enjoy your meal. The restaurant also offers table d’hôte for dinner.

For your Italian appetite you can head out to
Sapori. We were told that the famous Michelin-starred Chef Moreno Cedroni contributed to the creation of this restaurant. Sapori offers contemporary Italian cuisine - pizzas, pasta, seafood, salads, and a feast of antipasti.

When we were planning our trip we wanted to eat at an authentic Japanese restaurant. Our search showed us that Long Beach had an in house authentic Japanese restaurant called Hasu. We ensured that we reserved a place at this eatery in advance. Hasu offers Japanese cuisine served in a central grill and a Yakitori bar. This restaurant in Mauritius is an amalgamation of the talents of a Japanese and an Italian Chef as they provide a fusion of flavours to provide gourmet cuisine that is authentic and deliciously surprising. This restaurant is a must visit for non-vegetarians.

Another restaurant renowned for its Sichuan style is Chopsticks. This modern and casual Chinese restaurant offers both Cantonese and Hunan cuisine. The atmosphere here is relaxed and the dishes showcase the creativity of its two Chinese Chefs. We were also lucky to witness Chinese Chef Master Es Nouilles Lamian in action as he showed off his culinary dexterity in the open kitchen.

Your trip to Mauritius is surely incomplete if you haven't tried authentic Mauritian cuisine. Long Beach offers a brilliantly located beach restaurant that features an amazing selection of fish presented through an amazing Mauritian and international cuisine. You can enjoy refreshments, local cocktails at the

While I'm sure you have enjoyed reading this post, it is a bit long so I'll have to leave the rest (details about the spa, golf course, activities in Mauritius and a sample itinerary) for another post. Enjoy a few more pictures as I sign off!
